Remedial Optimization and Pilot Study, Former Nebraska Ordnance Plant (FNOP) Operable Unit (OU) 2

Description:

We are pleased to announce that the USACE Kansas City District has awarded Bluestone Environmental Group a five year contract at the Former Nebraska Ordnance Plant (FNOP) in Mead, NE. Under this cost reimbursable fixed-fee task order, Bluestone will review available data, complete project work plans and conduct an Optimization Investigation and Remedial Technology Evaluation for Operable Unit (OU) 2, sitewide groundwater, at the Former Nebraska Ordnance Plant (FNOP). An existing groundwater extraction and treatment system (GETS) is in place to contain groundwater contamination at FNOP. This SOW is intended to guide United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) in the selection of potential remedial technologies that could reduce the overall cleanup timeframe the GETS is in operation. The primary groundwater contaminants at FNOP are trichloroethylene (TCE) and 1,3,5-trinitro-1,3,5-triazine (RDX).
