Description:

Since 2013, Bluestone personnel have been working with Directorate of Public Works (DPW) personnel to provide wide ranging environmental support services. Through on-site staff augmentation, and reach-back to Headquarters, Bluestone personnel have assisted with all components of the Garrison’s environmental needs. Bluestone personnel assist in spill response when needed, and have helped to arrange for hazardous waste to be properly transported and disposed of off-site. Bluestone personnel have developed a site-wide recycling program, which resulted in cost savings for the Government. On-site personnel have conducted facility inventories to determine current reportable quantities of material, prepared Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act (EPCRA)/Tier II submission for signature by Installation personnel, and determined reportable materials and quantities and prepared submittal for facility personnel. On-site personnel conduct routine inspections and activities to ensure compliance with discharge requirements to municipal wastewater treatment plant. Bluestone has obtained and collated data and prepare annual regulatory reports.

Bluestone personnel perform multi-media compliance audits are performed to help organizations and tenants of Fort Devens stay in compliance. Audits cover different aspects of environmental, health and safety. (Ex: HazMat storage, SAA, Fire extinguishers, flammable storage, etc). Bluestone worked to update the previous version of the audit to include all necessary aspects and updated regulation changes. Bluestone worked on a schedule to visit all required locations during the time period requested by Fort Devens. As well, we coordinated with other Fort Devens staff to include them in the audit process, and to use their areas of expertise and historical knowledge. Two members of the Team perform an audit with the representatives from the organization or tenant. Results from the audit were compiled into a report, after being reviewed and submitted by DPW.
